Fee Increases Delayed

Thursday, January 29, 2009

delay the proposed building permits and planning application fee increases until July 2009, after hearing the concerns expressed by the Business Improvment District.  A 30-40% increase was proposed after a comprehensive study of the fee schedule was completed. The Community Development Department reached out to the B.I.D. and explained the City's adopted policy of recovering 100% of the cost of services and not using general funds; however, the B.I.D. thought that the amount of the increase was just too large an increase to bear at this time when our economy is on a down swing. We are very pleased with the decision and will continue to work with The City on ways in which to relieve the economic pressures our members are feeling.
