Art Cars added to May Madness Classic Car Parade

Attention All ArtCar Artists/Owners
The San Rafael and Art Works Downtown wants you to exhibit your moving masterpiece as part of the MAY MADNESS event May 7th 2011.
What? May Madness is is 24 year old car event. It is usually for classic cars and hot rods. While those are cool and still part of the event, the event producer wants to expand the consciousness of our public's automobile concept. We are working to add other elements like eco-cars, historical cars, and you guessed it ARTCARS!
How? Normally all participants have to pay a $40 entry fee to participate. For artcars we have secured a sponsorship that will pay the first 12 entrys and guarantee $20 in gas money. All you have to do is register quickly and show up to show off.
Who? The San Rafael Downtown Business Improvement District puts on May Madness to celebrate our awesome downtown and to raise money for our efforts to maintain the awesomeness. In support of the BID's event, the downtown nonprofit art center, Art Works Downtown, is adding their flare to the event by arranging an artcar exhibition.
This event attracts about 5000 visitors.
Where? Fourth Street San Rafael California. Specifically Fourth St. between C & D Streets. On this block we have 4 galleries and our art center among other shops.
When? May 7th, 12 - 6pm (arrive by 11-11:30am to get your spot). This day is also the same day as our Marin Art Open Studios, so the art lovers will be out and about too.
Why? That's up to you, BUT we hope this is a great opportunity for you to exhibit your creation, meet new people, and enjoy a sweet day amongst a jumpin event.
